K. Laxma Goud Indian, b. 1940
K. Laxma Goud's "Untitled" is a retrospective of rural life, captured in a mixed media composition and lively colours. Depicting a lively scene with villagers engaged in daily activities, the painting prompts cultural richness that symbolises the coexistence of tradition and modernity. Inspired by his rural upbringing, it uniquely portrays the essence of village life. There is a placid bond and a deep connection to nature, animals and amongst themselves. Known for his common motif of goat, he states, "No one cares for a goat except perhaps for the artist who sees in the creature the dogged determination of a people who have learnt to live off their landscape by foraging for what they can get out of it."
