Jaya Ganguly is a renowned artist born in 1958 in Kolkata.
Her figurations are primitive, giving them a distinct character. Her technique of texturing adds dynamism and highlights the work. Shades of red and orange dominate her palette.
After graduating from the Indian College of Arts in 1982, she has had multiple global exhibitions of her work and has been featured in the Birla Academy of Art and Culture award, Kolkata in 1997, the Bhopal Biennale in 1996, and the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Kolkata, 1980. She currently lives and works in Kolkata.
