Arpana Caur, a literature graduate by degree, is a majorly self-taught artist.
Her work centers around femininity and female figurations. Her compositional inspirations are from folk paintings and Pahari miniatures. Caur seeks inspiration from Punjabi literature and bhakti poetry, the tints of which are visible in the form of melancholy, mysticism, and devotion.
Her paintings are free-flowing and spacial and display a contrasting colour scheme.
Arpana Caur was a part of numerous solo and group exhibitions and has a long list of awards to her name.
She currently lives and works out of Delhi.
