His visit to Varanasi where the absence of human figurations started developing, aided his new artistic creation. His abstractions were expressive in terms of colours and texturing. These features became salient in Ram Kumar’s paintings. His observation of the valleys in Shimla gave birth to a plethora of artworks made by him. Mostly naming his abstracts ‘untitled’, Ram Kumar always pushed his audience to inculcate their creativity and critical thinking through these open-ended paintings. It’s always the yellows and light greens that decorate his paintings, this colour combination pushes one to experience the autumn season through his artworks that are the likes of this painting here. His artworks are usually largescale which creates an atmosphere and experience of its own. The textures employed by Ram Kumar truly take his viewers on a journey much like the one he’s depicted here in this painting. Heavily inspired by the nature around him in the hilly region of Shimla, Ram Kumar tries to recreate his experiences through textures and colour schemes, much like the ones applied here in this painting.
