Partha Shaw was born in Kolkata in 1971. He adheres to the figurative symbolism movement and combines traditional Indian miniature art with modern art. He purposefully creates his distinctive style and defines his vocabulary of artistic expression. Shaw has explored the landscape but in a very contemporary fashion. His works have heavily textured foregrounds and backgrounds. His paintings display a transitional colour palette that adheres to the various moods of his paintings.
He's been part of several solo and group exhibits and has many accolades to his name.
