Badri Narayan was born in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, in 1929. He was a polymath and a self-taught artist.
His works were highly symbolistic, with mentions of icons from Indian mythology and culture making an appearance in his paintings often. His artworks are minimally stylistic and rendered simplistically.
His colour palette leans towards the warmer side with colours such as orange, yellow, and red used frequently. He took inspiration from the bible and Indian mythology and culture.
He displayed his works in many solo and group shows nationally and internationally. He received acknowledgments through many awards and accolades.
