Sakti Burman Indian, b. 1935

Overview
‘Even in the centuries which appear to us to be the most monstrous and foolish, the immortal appetite for beauty has always found satisfaction’.
                                                                                                                  -Sakti Burman

Sakti Burman had the opportunity to soak in the tales and myths of ancient folklore from the family elders. And Sakti was exceptionally sensitive to such stories, which fired his imagination. Warm and cool colours perform a harmonious medley on his canvas.
The effect of ëmarblingí is the invented technique that distinguishes his art. His idiosyncrasies helped him create a vision of realism and surrealism, fragmentation of abstraction, and a feeling of dreamscape simultaneously. It also reflected a conscious working accompanying his subconscious self.
He has displayed his work globally and has many accolades to his name.
