Suhas Roy Bangladeshi, 1936-2016

Overview

Born in 1936 in Bangladesh, he studied painting at the Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship, followed by graphic arts under the tutelage of Prof. S.W. Hayter at the Atelier 17 Ecole Superior Des Beaux Arts, Paris. Series of Radha, the mythological figure is some of his most notable works. He is known for the graceful portrayal of female figures, which he achieves by employing mediums such as crayon and charcoal and by using the dry brush technique.
Suhas Roy's works have been exhibited all over the world and have received awards for the same.
