The city's first art gallery comes up at ITC Mughal

Now, people of Agra need not go to Delhi or Mumbai to procure matchless art as Agra has launched its first art gallery Sanchit Art gallery on Saturday.

The gallery is part of Meena Bazaar shopping arcade and is located at the entrance of Hotel ITC Mughal.

It is the brainchild of Anu Joshan, a lover of fine arts and a keen art collector himself.

Maity Burman, a well-known Indian artist, inaugurated the art gallery. At the occasion, Joshan said, "I move around the whole country in search of paintings. Then I thought I should display these paintings here, so that people of Agra can have a taste of some of the best art in the world."

The show opened with an exhibition of an array of works of India's best-known painters. Among the invited guests were twelve renowned painters whose works have been displayed prominently.

Among the masters, the gallery displayed the unique artworks of Satish Gujral, Shakti Burman and Maity Burman, Laxma Goud, Sanjay Bhattacharya, Paresh Maity and Neeraj Goswami.

The works are a collection of different styles and mediums. Visitors saw masterpieces of oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, watercolour on board, water and pen-line work, among others.

Well-known artist Neeraj Goswami, who was present there, said, "I think the love of art will bloom in the city of Taj."

Sanjay Bhattacharya's oil on canvas drew drones of visitors and Kanchan's paintings "With his Another Face" and "Heartless Love" was also appreciated in the show. Books by great painters were also provided for viewing in the show.
