While keeping pace with modernity, an art exhibition has highlighted the steady flow of tradition. Beautiful paintings based on various folk styles are currently being showcased.
The exhibition, organized by Sanchit Art, was inaugurated on Wednesday by Puran Dawar, Chairman of FMMA. Located at Foot on Shoe, Sikandra, on the second floor, the gallery features stunning works by some of the country’s most renowned artists. In the paintings of Satish Gujral, animals and birds are presented in an auspicious manner, while Paresh Maity depicts women deeply immersed in folk culture, creating a seamless blend of tradition and modernity. Jaysasri Burman’s work showcases aquatic themes through the lens of traditional folk styles, and other prominent artists have brought their exquisite creative visions to life in this collection.
Sunil Joshan, Director of Sanchit Art, stated that the objective of this exhibition is to bring world-renowned paintings to the citizens of Agra. This type of art, which once graced the courts of Maharajas, is now being made accessible to the general public. The exhibition features nearly three dozen paintings and will remain open until February 26, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Anu Joshan, Sonam Joshan, and Sanchit Joshan welcomed all the guests. They noted that while one art gallery already exists at the Hotel Mughal Sheraton, a third gallery is set to be opened in Vasant Vihar, Delhi. On this occasion, JS Faujdar, Daljeet Singh, Sandeep Das, Sandeep Wasan, Pradeep Wasan, Kapil Malan, Rajeev Gaitola, Vijay Nishawan, Tulika Kapoor, Savita Jain, and others were specifically present.
