Paritosh Sen was an eminent artist, writer, tutor, and illustrator known for his bold and stylized strokes and unique socio-political caricatures. Born in 1918 in Dhaka, now Bangladesh, Sen completed his diploma in Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai.
His artworks have a whimsical look and an expressionistic feel to them. The facial and bodily features are exaggerated, and the colour scheme he opts for depends on the emotion he chooses to portray.
A decorated artist, Sen has exhibited in various countries and auctioned extensively in India.
