Overview

New Delhi: Sanchit Art, New Delhi is pleased to present Reverie, a compelling group exhibition that brings together a diverse selection of works by eminent artists.

Reverie brings together a diverse group of modern and contemporary Indian artists whose practices traverse figuration, abstraction, folk traditions, and personal iconographies. The exhibition presents a range of visual languages that depart from direct representation, transforming familiar subjects into compositions charged with rhythm, colour, and suggestion.
The artists assembled here do not seek to reproduce the visible world in literal terms. Landscapes dissolve into shifting fields of colour, figures emerge through stylised contours, and everyday forms acquire an unexpected sense of theatre. Whether through K. Laxma Goud's richly constructed scenes, Ganesh Pyne's quiet protagonists, S. H. Raza's luminous compositions, or F. N. Souza's experimentation with image and surface, each work proposes a reality shaped by invention as much as observation.
Running through the exhibition is a shared interest in transformation. Folk motifs, architectural fragments, natural forms, and symbolic imagery recur across generations of artists, yet each is reconfigured through a distinct formal vocabulary. In the works of Seema Kohli, and Shampa Sircar Das symbolic forms, and layered surfaces create richly immersive compositions, while artists such as Ram Kumar and Ganesh Haloi construct landscapes that oscillate between structure and dissolution.
Across the exhibition, forms are approached through markedly different visual vocabularies, yet each work encourages a lingering gaze. Reverie celebrates this diversity of expression, bringing together artists whose practices reveal how colour, line, texture, and form can reshape familiar subjects into compelling visual experiences.
On view from 10 July to 31 August 2026, the exhibition will be open Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
