P. Gopinath Indian, b. 1948
“In my work I have become more intuitive. I start with chaos of colours which finds its order in the end. This Style is particularly challenging when I have a designated space”-P.Gopinath
One of the founding members of the Cholamandala artist village, artist P. Gopinath born in 1948, began his carrier by creating naturalistic paintings.
Gopinath heavily explored ideas and forms that related to his native as well as Indian context. His explorations with Hindu symbolisms and other literary fields made P. Gopinath one of the prominent artists as his unique form of abstract and non-figurations carried the true essence of India.
The colour scheme of his paintings is either cool colours, warm colours, or a rhythmic amalgamation of both. His abstractions are usually symbolic and figurative.
