Overview
“When I paint, I reach a space where a kind of shimmering feeling sets in, as if I have created a new land”.
                                                                                                                     - Ganesh Haloi

Ganesh Haloi was born in East Bengal, present Bangladesh, in 1936. Owing to partition, he migrated to Kolkata and got his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Government College of Art and Craft.
His earlier work displayed landscapes that shifted to complete abstract works of non-figurative, non-traditional artworks. The shapes exist as isolated geometric forms. His colour palette contains multitudes of variety with minimal texturing.
Ganesh Haloi has a myriad of honors to his name and has been a part of group and solo exhibitions, nationally and internationally.
