Satish Gujral Indian, 1925-2020
“That who is stationary cannot be creative."
- Satish Gujral
Satish Gujral continuously led the Indian art scene with his distinctive blend of metropolitan sophistication and rural simplicity.
Gujral was a polymath with an urge for exploration; he worked with mediums like drawing, painting, architecture, and murals.
Being a partition artist, he carried the marks of national and personal tragedies. Gujral's early works were filled with agony and reflected visceral human suffering. His technique of combining his complex textured subjects and objects with an unusual blend of colours proved his work to be leagues apart.
He was part of numerous solo and group exhibitions and had achieved countless awards.
