Seema Kohli (b. 1960, Delhi) is one of India’s leading contemporary artists, known for her eclectic repertoire spanning painting, murals, sculpture, installation, film, and experiential performance. Born in Delhi, she has created her own niche in contemporary art over more than 35 years, blending metaphysical themes with visual storytelling rooted in Hinduism, Buddhism, Sufism, and Greek mythology.

Kohli’s artworks strive to grasp the metaphysical truth of existence and the cosmic energy responsible for creation, often emphasizing the cyclicality of life and the rejuvenation of life forms through unending processes of birth, death, and rebirth.
